The rum ration's back
From 1732, every sailor and Marine in the Royal Navy was given a 71ml tot of rum at midday. After 239 years, the tradition ended in 1971.
In 2022, serving and former members of the Armed Forces, two of them Royal Marine Commandos, set up Veteran Knots to keep that history alive. With several tours of the Caribbean between them, they bring you rum from the waters they sailed, in peacetime and on operations.
